Understanding Your Flight Plan

Understanding Your Flight Plan

Depending on the mission, flight plans will be generated in one of three ways:
1) Fully automated: Raad will produce a flight plan suited to the mission scope. Pilots will simply download the file and upload to their controllers.
2) KML-based: Raad will provide pilots a KML of the mission capture area. Pilots will then cross-reference the KML with associated flight parameters (GSD, overlap, etc) and produce their own automated flight plans in their controllers.
3) Non-Mapping: For monitoring and non-mapping missions, pilots will refer to Mission Notes, demonstration videos, and resource files and use judgement to define appropriate flight plans.

Note: some missions may require staging the drone from particular take-off locations on-site, so read the Mission Notes fully. For example, some solar captures require pilots take-off from the highest point on site while other monitoring missions require staging from strictly off-site and public locations.
