Defining Coverage Areas
When you create a Site or Campaign, you are indicating a point or address in the world you are interested in monitoring. To define the exact parcel/area, you must set a coverage area. Clients can either draw a polygon directly or upload a shapefile (e.g. KML/KMZ). The coverage area will indicate to our pilots the entire zone you need data for, so ensure it is truly representative.

After creating a site, upload a KML or KMZ file to define the exact area you want covered. This boundary is what the pilot uses to plan their flight path.
To create a KML file: Google Earth Pro, QGIS, ArcGIS, or geojson.io all export KML format.
To upload:
- Open your campaign or site
- Drag the KML/KMZ file onto the map area
- Verify the boundary looks correct
- Confirm
Coverage area size directly affects pricing — larger areas require more flight time.
